MVP's of Tuggerah Lakes

This page is dedicated to the amazing girls that have been with our club for 10 consecutive years or more. Regardless of results, Tuggerah Lakes would not be the club it is known to be without the help, support and loyalty of these young women.

Picture
Sophie Kelaher - our youngest MVP.

At just 4 years old, Sophie competed as a 5 year old and went to the State Finals. Over the past 14 years, Sophie has become a  consistent  Grand Finalist, gaining several high places, including 3rd in the 16 years in 2018.

Picture
Tamara Legge - our loyal Tuggerah girl.

Following her mother to Physi classes every week, Tamara has become a loyal Tuggerah member, through good times and those a little bit tougher. Tamara has become a well known State Finalist, and has achieved Grand Champion status on three occasions.

Picture
Tina Faulkner-Hulls - our quiet achiever.

Over the last 15 years, Tina has come out of her shell, both in strengthening her Physi and in revealing more of her personality in everyday life. A strong State Finalist full of heart, Tina has become a Grand Finalist on 2 occasions and as been a member of some amazing teams in her time at Tuggerah.

Picture
Daina Griffin - our hard worker.

In 15 years of Physi, never has there been a moment where 19 year old Daina has given less than 100% to learning and perfecting her work. Daina has been an integral part of many successful teams and has individually become a thriving State finalist and five time Grand finalist.

Picture
Jade Faulkner-Hulls - our bubble of laughter.

The ever smiling Jade has shown pride in her Physi work since the ripe age of 3, and has since become a well known State and six-time Grand finalist, placing 4th, 3rd and 2nd in the 5 years, 7 years and 10 years (respectively).

Picture
Courtney Tippett - our super trooper.

For the majority of her 18 physi years, 20 year old Courtney has worked hard, mostly on her own in class, to make her way up to a time State finalist and has achieved Grand Finalist as a 12 and 16 year old.

Picture
Bethany Maddison -
Part of the Family

Bethany has been a part of the physi world since before time. Her mother, Suzanne, ran her own club in the South Coast of Sydney, with Bethany as one of her first students. When the family moved to Newcastle, Bethany took a break from physi, returning to Tuggerah Lakes as a 16 year old. As well as being in several very successful teams, Bethany is a stunning competitor that has graced the Town Hall stage on 5 occasions.

Picture
Nikki Phillips - "Louise's Daughter".

Being a part of physi her entire life, including in utero, Nikki has always strived to learn more than what was required of her. Having been to State 6 times, and Grand once as a 15 year old, Nikki has always identified as a team player, having only been in 6 non-placing teams in her 25 Physi years.

Picture
Kirsten V - our 25 year old baby.

As Louise's first 5 year old, Kirsten has gone from a cutie with enormous glasses to an inspiring mother of three with equally inspiring Physi work. Over 20 competing years, Kirsten has achieved 13 Grand Finalist results, including four Grand Champion First's, as an 8, 10, 11 and 16 year old. She now brings her daughter, Miley, to watch her grow in Physi as she did.

Picture
Stacey Sinclair - our team player.

Stacey has consistently added strength to any Tuggerah Lakes team she has competed in. In over 25 years of Physi, she has become a State and a Grand Finalist, as well as been a part of many placing teams.

Picture
Debbie Cutugno - our Physi Friend.

Joining us in 1993, Debbie has constantly shown a love for People and Physi alike. Making friends at every Physi event she attended, Debbie has risen to Grand Finalist an incredible 13 -times, including a Grand Champion First Place as a 16 year old.

Picture
Kirrilee MacKenzie - our memory bank.

Since the moment she became a Physi girl, Kirrilee has impressed with her amazing ability to retain and improve her Physi work in a short space of time. In over 25 years of Physi with Tuggerah Lakes, Kirrilee has become an amazing 17-time Grand Finalist taking home many placings and has been a part of some incredible teams.

Picture
Jo Mackie - our carefree spirit.

Jo has always had the ability to bring a sense of peace to any situation, be it a competition, or a stressful life situation. A back-bone to our club, Jo has given support and succeeded with many placing teams. She has now continued the family line, with her daughters, Aliyah and Ella, competing  with Tuggerah Lakes as well.

Picture
Kristy Garner - our musical wonder.

Delighting us with her musical renditions of the timing in physi, Kristy has amazed many with her ability to continue to improve throughout her senior years. We know she has many more in her, as in her many years with Tuggerah Lakes she has become a well known Grand Finalist. She is also a proud mother to Kiralee, who enters the 11 years this year.

Picture
Karen Faulkner-Hulls - our ideas woman.

Continuing the line of strong Faulkner women in the Physi world, Karen has helped bring Tuggerah Lakes into its own, ever improving herself, her daughters and her Physi family in any way she can. Karen is a Physi Champion in her own right, as she has been in many high placing teams (including a 1st placed Ladies Team [2nd years, 2006]), as well as taking her own Grand Champion Lady First Place the same year.

Picture
Debbie Legge - our Teacher.

Having become the youngest Edith Parsons teacher at just 15, Debbie has always strived to help those around her become better in their Physi. Debbie has been in many well placed teams and had passed the Physi tradition to her daughter and fellow MVP, Tamara. Debbie has also had great success individually, achieving many Grand placings in the Seniors, Ladies and Extended Ladies sections, including Sectional Champion two years in a row in the Senior Advanced Ladies.

Picture
Lyn Salmon - our dedicated supporter.

Lyn has always been the first to show up to class, ready for what was in store. She has also been a long term faithful friend of the club members, even before Tuggerah Lakes' existence. Her friendship and loyalty to Tuggerah Lakes has helped many teams achieve great success. Lyn, like many physi ladies, has extended her physi experience with her daughter, Kate, who shares her determination to be the best that she can.

Picture
Kay Murray - our classically beautiful worker.

The Mother of MVP's Debbie Cutugno and Jo Mackie (and Physi Mother of many more) has always drawn the eye when she steps onto the Physi floor. With a grace and elegance topped only by her loving nature, Kay has been in many successful Physi teams, as well as gaining individual success in the Senior Advanced Ladies State finals through the late 90's.

Picture
Jill Dominguez - our positive force.

Never without a smile, Jill brings an air of joy to everyone around her. Combined with her beautiful toe-work Jill can still be an unstoppable force on the Physi floor, which she proved in 2019 when she placed 2nd in the Advanced Ladies (Veterans) State Final.

Picture
Suzanne Dean - our queen of precision.

Always being one for attention to detail, Suzanne will not tire until she is sure every aspect of her work, and the work of those around her, is as perfect as it can be. Since joining Tuggerah Lakes in 2005, Suzanne has been part of several Senior and Extended Ladies teams, as well as taking home a Grand Final place in this section for over 10 years, as well as becoming Grand Champion in this section in 2015. She also takes pride in her daughter, Bethany, as she takes the same approach to her work in the Open Seniors.

Picture
Melissa Brailey - our Overall Champion.

Though she would never admit to it, Melissa has become the pinnacle of Tuggerah Lakes' reputation. The absolutely stunning Physi worker has become an incredible 25-time Grand Finalist in over 30 years of Physi, with only 3 years as a non-competitor.  Melissa has  become a spectacular thirteen time Grand Champion Girl First Place winner in her age group from 13 years old to just last year, in 2019 as an open senior. Melissa has also accomplished a feat only 2 others have done - in her first year of Open Seniors in 1998, she became the Overall Open Senior Grand Champion Girl, the highest honour in Edith Parsons Physical Culture. Since then, she has become the ONLY Open Senior in Edith Parsons History to take this title an amazing SEVEN times (1998, 2002, 2006, 2010, 2014, 2016 & 2019). Melissa is now passing on her Physi excellence, in teaching our 2-4 year old class, and watching her own daughters, Brooklyn and Macy, as they joins the competing age groups of physi.
